This week's Monday Market Watch April 20th...The real estate movement for the City of Austin is as follows. New active listings to the market increased 8%, pending sales are up 23% and the withdrawn properties increased by 12% this week compared to the week prior. Watch the video for details.
Comparing the first quarter of 2020 to the first quarter of 2019, the number of active listings on the market are down more than 50% in Austin proper this year. In other words, there are approximately 50% less opportunities to find the perfect house this year compared to the same time last year. And demand remains strong.
From $0-$500,000.....In 2019 there were 1879 properties on the market in the 1st quarter. The first quarter of 2020 had 931....A 50% decrease.
From $500,000-$1M.....In 2019 there were 784 properties on the market in the 1st quarter. The first quarter of 2020 had 469....A 40% decrease.
Over $1M.....In 2019 there were 253 properties on the market in the 1st quarter. The first quarter of 2020 had 82....A 68% decrease.
